For anyone with a love of the great outdoors our two beautiful cottages within a converted stone barn offer perfect surroundings for exploring Exmoor.  Sleeping between 2 & 4, Free Wi Fi  ~     rural amidst own fields  ~   very peaceful: 100 yards from the road, off  road parking next to cottages, close to but private from our own house   ~   no other houses nearby  ~  totally inclusive of all sheets, towels, electricity, central heating oil, woodburner logs and more   ~   comfortable beds  ~   non smoking  ~  exactly 1 mile from village pub and shop  ~   on the Somerset and Devon border ~      4 miles from the quaint town of Dulverton with shops, supermarket, tea-rooms, restaurants and pubs  ~  miles of footpaths for walking and cycling in breath taking scenery  ~  trout and salmon fishing locally.


Our two rural holiday cottages are in the Exmoor National Park near Dulverton in Exmoor Somerset, England. The Devon border is 2 miles from our drive. We are in the upper part of the River Exe valley  and close to Wimbleball Lake. Our local pub, The George, is in the village of Brompton Regis - one mile from your front door, serving good local beer, cider and food.


These West Country holiday cottages offer high comfort in all seasons with full central heating, log fires (log burners) and a free limitless supply of logs. Just arrive and relax because beds are made up for you and towels, electricity, heating are all included.

Well behaved & well controlled dogs are welcome by arrangement in our Toads Breech cottage but please note we ask they are kept downstairs, are not allowed on the furniture and not left unattended either in the cottage or in the grounds.


Although our grounds are all open plan and the only gates are into the fields containing our sheep goats and hens there is a dedicated field available for relaxing with a lounger or exercising your dog.

We offer a 10% Discount for couples who wish to have the luxury of not only more space but a bath & a downstairs WC in Toads Breech but will only be using  one of the Two Bedrooms. Just remember to tell me which one you wish me to make up.

Each holiday cottage is equipped to a high standard, retaining the character of the old stone barn: oak beams and wonky walls, with high quality fixtures and furnishings, including a log burner. They offer relaxing and comfortable retreats in all weathers and season  --  havens of peace and quiet!

We present them immaculately and provide as much as possible to minimise what you need to bring and to maximise your enjoyment of the holiday cottages and your stay on Exmoor. We respect the environment, sustainability and support local produce -- there is a superb choice of local sourced food products at all the local shops



Toads Breech is our larger cottage sleeping 4 (+cot if requested), in two large bedrooms: one with king-size bed, the other set up as a twin, (warning: we do check your car on departure because numerous guests have found the beds so comfortable they've threatened to take them with them!)   Buzzards sleeps 2   in one large bedroom and king size bed, (plus cot if requested). Because of the space, we can also put up a single bed for slightly older children, (sensibly upto 5 years old), if required. Click here to view Buzzards 


Toads Breech is our larger cottage ,it has hard flooring throughout the ground floor, solid Oak in the sitting room and is ideal if you wish to bring your dog. There are two roomy bedrooms: one with king size bed, the other set up as a twin. Click here to view Toads Breech

We have just recarpeted the master bedroom, replaced the sofa's and refitted the bathroom so it is all looking very smart.


  Buzzards sleeps 2   it has a large bedroom, with a king size bed. The shower room has just been refitted, the sitting room recarpeted, new armchairs and all freshly painted. Click here to view Buzzards  


Our Exmoor holiday cottages are both conventionally laid out with  spacious bedrooms and well-equipped with quality fittings and furnishings.


We try to make you feel comfortable & totally at home so that you are already planning your return visit before you leave.




Rurally located in dramatic and varied landscape, they offer peaceful retreats for a holiday or short break, at any time of the year. Being little-known, Exmoor is unspoilt and uncrowded " the jewel in the English crown" with its great walking, fishing, riding & even stargazing. Exmoor National Park is the first International Dark Sky Reserve in Europe. We have abundant wildlife,  or maybe just space in which to relax and "do your own thing".
