Welcome to Weatherham Farm cottages!

 

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION  Two cottages in converted stone barn  ~   sleeping 4 and 2  ~  dog friendly    ~     rural amidst own fields  ~   peaceful: 100 yards off the road, close to, but private from, our own house   ~   no other houses nearby  ~  sheets, towels, electricity, central heating oil, woodburner logs and more included  ~   comfortable beds  ~   non smoking  ~  exactly 1 mile from village with pub and shop  ~   on the Somerset and Devon border ~      4 miles from Dulverton with shops, supermarket, tea-rooms, restaurants and pubs  ~  miles of footpaths in varied scenery  ~  trout and salmon fishing locally

 

Our two rural self catering holiday cottages are in the Exmoor National Park near Dulverton in Somerset, England in the upper part of the River Exe valley  and close to Wimbleball Lake. Our local pub is in the village of Brompton Regis, (good beer and food), exactly 1 mile away.

 

These  West Country holiday cottages offer high comfort in all seasons with full central heating and log fires, (log burners).  Just arrive and relax because beds are made up for you and towels, electricity, heating and logs, etc. are all included.

 

Toads Breech sleeps 4 people and Buzzards sleeps 2, both plus cot if required. Dogs and pets are welcome by arrangement. Both have plenty of outside space and garden furniture and guests are always able to walk in at least one of our fields which surround the cottages.

Each holiday cottages is equipped to a high standard, retaining the character of the old stone barn: oak beams and uneven walls, with high quality fixtures and furnishings, including a log burner. They offer relaxing and comfortable retreats in all weathers and season  --  havens of peace and quiet!

We present them immaculately and provide as much as possible to minimise what you need to bring and to maximise your enjoyment of the holiday cottages and your stay on Exmoor. We respect the environment, sustainability and support local produce -- we have a superb choice of local food products around us. 

 

 

Toads Breech is our larger cottage sleeping 4 (+cot if requested), in two large bedrooms: one with king-size bed, the other set up as a twin, (warning: we do check your car on departure because numerous guests have found the beds so comfortable they've threatened to take them with them!) These Exmoor holiday cottages are both conventionally laid out with with spacious bedrooms and well equipped with quality fittings and furnishings, etc. You don't need to bring any of the basic and fiddly things with you, (soaps, washing powders, hair dryers, etc.,etc. -- we provide them!).

 

Rurally located in dramatic and varied landscape, they offer peaceful retreats for a holiday, or short break, at any time of the year. Being little known, Exmoor is unspoilt and uncrowded with great walking, fishing, wildlife, riding and space in which to relax and "do your own thing".

 

From our peaceful holiday cottages it is easy to make your own explorations and discoveries or to indulge in a very varied range of activities, plus, of course the pleasure of enjoying fine Exmoor produce either via your own culinary skills 'at home' in your cottage of through exploring local pubs and restaurants. 

 

 Andrew is a keen trout and salmon fisherman, happy to advise on Exmoor waters, permits and tactics and Anne is a keen gardener always willing to chat about the various gardens, National Trust places and nurseries on, and around, Exmoor. There are hundreds of miles of footpath and bridleways for very varied walking and riding. It is a great place for dogs and we welcome dogs by arrangement. We have our own fields for morning and evening dog walks.
