Weatherham Farm Cottages are situated within the Exmoor National Park, in England's West Country, usually within 3.5 hours drive of London, the home counties and Birmingham.

They are west of Taunton, south of Minehead and north of Tiverton.

Their detailed location is 1 miles west of the village of Brompton Regis, 2 miles west of the large Wimbleball Lake and 4 miles north east of the small town of Dulverton.

They are reached by one of two car routes when coming from the east, north or south. The shorter distance car route is to leave the M5 at junction 25 and come via Taunton, however, although this route is more scenic in fine weather, it is probably the slower route when rush hour traffic delays progress round Taunton's ring road.

The longer, but often quicker route, is to leave the M5 at junction 27, follow the A361  to the end of the dual carriageway and drive north up the A396, always keeping the river on your left. This is the easier way in poor weather or at the end of a long drive . This route is described in detail at the end of this page.

We always send a set of detailed directions to our guests with the receipt of final payment for their booking.

This photo shows the turn off the A396 when coming via the M5 junction 27, the A361 dual carriageway towards Tiverton and then heading north up the A396, with the River Exe on your left. This turn is called Machine Cross

This is the last turn off one road onto another to take you up the hill to Weatherham Farm 2.5 miles away.

Detailed Instructions to get to Weatherham Farm from the M5 Junction 27

1. Leave the M5 at junction 27, signposted to Tiverton (Dual carriage way - watch speed)

2. Continue to Tiverton Roundabout. Turn Right onto A396.

3. Continue on A396 to the Exeter Inn Roundabout. Turn Left - signposted to Dulverton.

4. Continue on this road (A396) to Black Cat Garage, signified by white sign with large black cat on it!

5. This is a strange crossroads - not your right of way so take care. (Main road goes left over the river) Take the road straight ahead (A396) . Ignore right turn up hill to Bampton.

6. Keep on this road to Exebridge. Take care of slow signs and bend signs, they are there for a reason!!!!!!! Standing water is also common, so take additional care in wet weather.

7. At Exebridge keep Toll house and closed garage on your left (ignoring turn to Dulverton)

8. Continue until you come to a large black roadsign, called Machine Cross, indicating right turn to Watchet and Wimbleball Lake. (B3190) We are 2.5 miles from here. (staggered cross roads, further left turn is to Dulverton)

9. Turn Right at this sign, up the steep hill, pass houses on left hand corner and white cottage on the left at the top of the hill (If you are travelling at night, mind the deer at this point)

10. Approx. 1 mile after the house, there is Beach Tree Cross (a Y fork junction) Take left hand road.

11. After a right hand bend, with two bend sign chevrons on your left, road goes downhill with slight bends.. At single ash tree on right hand hedge, indicate left. The turning to Weatherham Farm is on the bend 200 yards after this tree. You will see the slate name signs. (If you reach a cross roads, named White Post Cross below the direction signs, you have gone 200 metres too far).

12. Continue down our drive, past the cottage on the left, into the old farmyard. Please sound your horn on arrival and we will come and greet you. Buzzards is the cottage with the terrace area, opening onto the farmyard. Toad's Breach can be reached by the path down the side of the building. We wish you a safe journey. Tel:- 01398 371303
