Weatherham Farm Exmoor Cottages: SITUATION

You will find space, peace and tranquillity at Weatherham Farm, in one of UK's little known National Parks.

The two self-catering cottages are 100 metres off a good B road.  They have their own quiet car parking. Buzzards' parking is adjacent to the cottage and the parking for Toads Breech is nearby.

We are rural, sorrounded by our own land, panoramic views and unspoilt countryside. Three of our fields border the cottages.

The most likely disturbance will be one of our small chickens or some other wildlife!

The highest field, (shown left), giving its 1850 tythe map name to the larger cottage, Toads Breech, has distant views north west to Dunkery Beacon, Exmoor's National Park's summit.  This summit has wide, open heather moorland with views across the Bristol channel to Wales.-- excellent walking country and some of the UK's most varied scenery within a small area.

This field is reached via the walkway.  For guests in Toads Breech, this is from the end of their private garden; for guests in Buzzards this is via the Orchard Field

Guests are welcome to walk in this and the other fields, subject to neighbours' sheep or cattle grazing and haymaking.

Even if both fields are being grazed, a third field is always accessible -- this is our Orchard Field

The orchard field is dedicated to the 2 cottages.  Half of it is closely mown grass and is suitable for relaxing, viewing wildlife, picnicking, barbecuing, childrens' play and ball games.  The other half is wild habitat.

Our own house, (first left hand photo below), with separate car park, is slightly uphill above the cottages.  Because it is set at right angles to the cottages, with no windows or doors overlooking them, and because it is partly screened by trees, we are quite private from the cottages.  Anne and I, (Andrew), enjoy welcoming guests and showing them round, but after that, guests don't need to see us if they are seeking their own privacy.  However we are here to help with any queries and with local information and advice.  We aim to help our guests gain the maximum pleasure and relaxation during their stay.

The cottages are screened below our own house Hay carting in Toads Breech field: looking across the valley The last few from one of top fields
